·          Health Physics support and management for a fuel manufacturing plant, responsible for all facility health physics functions, activities and programs, including: dosimetry; contamination and radiation control; radiological surveys and analysis; portable instrumentation; laboratory analytical instrumentation; non-destructive assay (NDA); environmental sampling and reporting; emergency response; radiological engineering; training for radiation workers, health physics technicians, and special radiological evolutions; special studies and analysis; and plant shutdown and preparation for decommissioning.

 

·          Development of fuel manufacturing facility procedures, computer software programs and databases for: sample preparation and analysis; calibration and operation of analytical instrumentation; ALARA analysis, trending and reporting; rod scanner neutron source replacement; environmental dose assessment and reporting; and uranium material control and accountability.

 

·          Evaluation and reporting of effective dose equivalent for monitored workers, including assessment and determination of internal, external and extremity dose.

 

·          Development and preparation of routine daily, weekly, monthly and annual trending and reporting of plant radiological conditions and personnel exposure.  Preparation of annual dosimetry reports to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and monitored individuals.

 

·          Surveys, reviews and evaluation of radiological waste and material shipments, including preparation of required documentation for shipping.

 

·          Evaluation, tracking, trending and reporting of radiological environmental sampling and monitoring data and results, including preparation of semi-annual and annual reports to NRC and State Regulatory Commissions.

 

·          Response to, and interaction with the NRC and State Regulatory Commissions during facility reviews, evaluations, inspections and investigations, including preparation of written responses.  Preparation and submittal of requests for licensing changes to NRC and State Regulatory Commissions.
