Our consulting experience in the areas of Program Development, Assessment & Operational Readiness Review Includes the following areas:
· Radiation Protection Program audits, assessments and surveillances during Demolition and Decommissioning activities, including the following areas: radwaste packaging and shipment preparation; Final Status Survey (FSS); site radiological surveys; industrial safety; maintenance; and operations.
· Nuclear Oversight Department representative on the Reactor Coolant System (RCS) Chemical Decontamination Project Team, responsible for development and implementation of chemical decontamination at Connecticut Yankee nuclear plant.
· Performed in-depth assessment of Radiation Protection at Perry Nuclear Plant (BWR). Assessment included all aspects of the Radiation Protection program, procedures and implementation. Provided assessment of staffing and qualifications of personnel, and recommendations for organizational changes.
· Performed assessment of operational chemistry at Perry Nuclear Plant. Provided assessment and recommendations regarding the management, control and monitoring of zinc injection and reactor chemistry parameters, including Cobalt-to-Zinc ratios. The focus of the assessment was to minimize plant dose rates through appropriate chemistry controls.
· Performed a needs-based assessment of Emergency Preparedness Program elements to prepare for a DOE Operational Readiness Review. This was the first site assessment performed under the new requirements of DOE Orders 151.1, 420.1 and 440.1. The assessment included a programmatic and performance-based review of current site programs relative to DOE compliance criteria, resulting in a comprehensive report to WIPP management, identifying deficiencies.
